LB Greg Jones – Michigan State

Greg Jones is a monster on the field, as the middle line backer at Michigan State he led the Spartans in tackles four straight years. He leaves the East Lansing campus as the school’s all-time top defensive player. While at Michigan Jones could often be found breaking down game tape, trying to gain any edge he could use come game time. He’s a productive run defender inside the box, is able to beat blockers with his rare quickness and leverage, despite being undersized for the position. He’s most effective and productive when free to run to the ball, and is an exceptional interior pass rusher for the position. Jones is most effective in man to man and zone coverage, he is quick to diagnose the play and is quick to diagnose the play and performs his assignment consistently. He has the ability to sniff out screens, and is a buildup speed athlete. He has excellent lateral quickness and agility against outside run plays.
