LB Mason Foster – Washington

Linebacker Mason Foster 2011 NFL Draft

Foster is constantly making tackles on running plays and has the elite playing strength to take on run blocks at the point of attack, holds his ground and can consistently make the tackle. He shows the quickness, deceptive playing speed and instincts to get outside faster than expected. He is a great tackler who does a solid job of staying over his feet and keeping his knees bent in order to drive up into the ballcarrier and make a hard violent hit. He reads the quarterback well and is able to close quickly on passes in front of him to make the hard hit right after the catch. He has excellent instincts and is able to sniff out screen passes, does not bite on play action fakes. Foster has gone from a decent late round prospect when he arrived at Washington to now having the necessary tools to become a productive starter at the next level
