LB Von Miller – Texas A&M

Linebacker Von Miller 2011 NFL draft

Probably the top sack specialist in this year’s draft, Miller lead the country in sacks as a junior in 2009 and nearly came out for the 2010 NFL draft, where he likely would have been a first round pick. Miller chose to go back to Texas A&M for his senior season and actually looks even better with another year of college experience under his belt. He can play in any defensive scheme in the NFL but is best suited as a rush linebacker in a 3-4 scheme. He’s an elite passrusher who is a game changer with his ability to defeat blocks and pressure the quarterback. He accelerates to top speed in a  flash and has the elite speed and closing burst that NFL teams covet. Miller easily beats tackles with a vast variety of pass rush moves. He shows rare explosiveness off the ball, he has the agility and athleticism to cover tight ends in man coverage. He has outstanding range to chase down plays in pursuit and moves through traffic with ease. Miller is going to be a top 10 pick due to his athleticism and elite pass rush skills.
